Year 2013

April 27-28, 2013: Google Developers Group JIIT Noida Sec-62, held a two day hands-on workshop on 'Android App Development Workshop' in its campus on 27th-28th April 2013. The workshop was delivered by Guest Speakers from 'Multisoft Systems'. While the workshop started with a basic introduction to Logic, it slowly drifted to Android and its current uses.
Day 1 saw the description of basic parts of an Android App and Day 2 went down to basic coding and designing the apps.
The course material was designed and delivered in such a way that students from all years and branches found it useful and informative.
With an attendance of 150+ students (registration: 300+), the workshop was a huge success. The overwhelming response from the students attending the workshop recognized the efforts put in by team in organizing the workshop.

April 22, 2013: On the occasion of Earth Day, Green Team of JBS organized two events: i) Clean Campus Drive-Recycling and Awareness Program at Annapurna/Cafeteria and ii) Screening of a movie on Environmental Issues.

March 18, 2013: The JIIT Youth Club organized Prize Distribution Ceremony on 18 March 2013.

March 8, 2013: Farewell party organized for MBA Final year students.

March 7, 2013: Blood Donation Camp organized on 7th March 2013 under the banner of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar District Hospital, Noida.

March 3, 2013: Google Developers Group JIIT Noida Sec-62, organized an Android App Competition on 3rd March during Impressions '13 which saw submission of 35 competitive Apps designed by JIITians.

March 1-3, 2013: JIIT organized its annual inter-collegiate festival “Impressions 2013” from 1st to 3rd March 2013. The festival hosted over 100 events spread over different disciplines namely technical, cultural, literary, sports and management. Impressions 2013 was a delicious cocktail of cultural diversity, social awareness and entertainment on a national scale.

February 23-24, 2013: The Literary Hub of JYC conducted a Model United Nations 2013 on 23-24 February 2013 at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. Mr. Peter Vrooman, Spokesperson, US Embassy, New Delhi was the Chief Guest  who took time out of his busy schedule to see students simulate the roles of young leaders in the five councils. JMUN 2013 had five committees for young leaders: (i) United Nations General Assembly Plenary (ii) United Nations Human Resource Council (iii) International Atomic Energy Agency (iv) War Cabinet of India 1971and (v) Indian Emperor Council 1857. The two days saw intense debating, crisis and policy making over the given agendas.

February 23, 2013: Intra-institute co-curricular activities were organized at JIIT, Sec-128 campus: Mr. & Miss Converge, Student of the Year, J-Roadies, Treasure Hunt, Minute to Win It, Rangoli, Face Painting, Best Out of Waste, Cover the Fest, G-Roid, Cryptography, Logo Quiz, Quizzing, Anti-Chess, Password, Living the Characters, Star Stuck, Just a Minute, Mock Stock, 2 Dance Performances.

February 22-23, 2013: Inter-institute co-curricular activities were organized at JIIT, Sec-128 campus: (a) Sports – Table-Tennis, Badminton, Cricket (soft-ball), Futsal, Volley-ball, Basket-Ball, Lawn Tennis (b) Cultural – war of bands, Street play and (c)Technical – Robotics, LAN Gaming.

February 16, 2013: A Workshop on Faculty Development Program - Super Attitude for Success was organized. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Kajal Rastogi and Mr. Bharat Bhargava, Training Consultants.

February 12, 2013: Radiance Hub organized Theme Night on 12 February 2013.

February 12, 2013: The Painting Hub "Expressions" organized a painting exhibition "Wibes" - an artistic expression depicting different emotions/ feelings.

February 8, 2013: Students of JBS organized JBS Mall on 8 February 2013.

February 7, 2013: Music Hub organized an Evening of Music with open Karaoke rounds and live performances.

January 26, 2013: JIIT celebrated Nation’s 64th Republic Day.

January 25, 2013: To mark the 64th Republic Day Celebration ICREATE Hub organised a Sketching Exhibition on the theme "Youth Perception of India".

January 22, 2013: Google Developers Group JIIT Noida Sec 62, held an 7-day workshop on JAVA programming language in its campus starting from 22nd January 2013.The workshop primarily targeted at basics of JAVA where in the first 1hour 30minutes of the class daily were given to explaining the topic and the next 30 minutes was designated as the doubt solving and the problem tackling time. The course material was designed in such a way that would help the students in understanding the basic concepts that were being taught in their academic year. It was a pre-workshop for the much awaited 'Android App Development Workshop'.

January 19, 2013: Programming Competition Hub (Department of CSE/IT) organized a programming competition.

January 15, 2013: Guest lecture by Mr Arun Naik on the life of Swami Vivekananda, his teachings and their relevance to the youth of India. Mr Naik is a trained Yoga Teacher from Sivanand Ashram, a senior Pranic Healer, and belongs to an ancient lineage of Vastushastra practitioners. He has written several articles on Yoga and Vastushastra. He is an Executive Member of the Noida branch of Sri Aurobindo Society, and is actively associated with its activities.

January 13, 2013: The festival of Lohri was celebrated by JIIT staff and students.

January 02, 2013: Workers Day was celebrated on 2 January 2013.

 

 

Year 2012

 

November 27, 2012: Quiz on Mathematics conducted for BTech first year students.

November 24, 2012: Quiz on Microprocessors and controllers conducted for BTech ECE students.

November 10-11, 2012: A two day ISTE workshop on Aakash for Education organized at JIIT 128 campus. The objective of this workshop was to introduce the tablet computers in general, and Aakash tablets in particular, to the participating faculty and make effective use in educational process. JIIT -128 was selected as a remote center out of 250 colleges across the country, Hence the Institute would be a part of all future workshops conducted by IIT, Bombay as a part of the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) supported by MHRD. The Institute has got 40 tablets to be given to the Faculty to encourage research and development.

November 9, 2012: JIIT Technical Hub-Biotechnology (RIBOSE) organized an Article Writing Competition for students of Biotechnology in association with GBioFin, a firm involved in promotion of Biotechnology in India.

November 8, 2012: The Thespian Circle, JIIT Theatre Hub organized "Theatre Night" at JIIT Auditorium on 8 November 2012.

November 6, 2012: 2013: Google Developers Group JIIT Noida Sec 62, held an 8-day workshop on C programming language in its campus starting from 6th November 2012.The workshop primarily targeted the first year students where in the first 1hour 30mins of the class daily were given to explaining the topic and the next 30 minutes was designated as the doubt solving and the problem tackling time.
The course material was designed in such a way that would help the students in understanding the basic concepts that were being taught in their academic year. The topics included arrays and strings (multi dimension), pointers, user defined functions, text file handling, basics of structures and unions, some standard library functions, graphics in C.
With an attendance of 90 students daily going up to 130 students on few days, the turnout of the workshop on all 8 days was impressive. The overwhelming response from the students attending the workshop recognized the efforts put in by the team in organizing the workshop.

November 5, 2012: Google Developers Group JIIT Noida Sec 62, held a workshop on ‘Being Search Ninja’ in its campus on 5th November 2012 from 4-6pm. This was the GDG JIIT Noida’s 3rd workshop which was inspired by Power Searching with Google.
The 2 hour session was conducted by the members of the GDG JIIT team who had prepared their own course material under the guidance of the faculty. The 110 student turnout of the workshop got an overwhelming response from the audience who felt that such interactive workshop should be organized in college more often.

November 3, 2012: Literary Hub Parola organized the first session of Youth Parliament on November 3-4, 2012. The first edition of the Jaypee Youth Parliament 2012 turned out to be a great learning experience for all those present during the two day session.The Youth Parliament was a simulation of the Lok Sabha, where the young leaders of tomorrow took to form the ruling and the opposition party, discussing the serious issues affecting them and their motherland. The agenda of the parliamentary session at JIIT was Violation of speech and expression over various forms of media.The students were allotted their Indian constituencies along with the portfolio of the minister they were supposed to represent at the session a month in advance so that they could do a thorough research of the agenda and come up with good solutions and practices to tackle the problem.
The session was attended by 110 students. On Day 1, the adrenaline rush along with a sense of patriotism was strongly perceived in the representatives of the Indian constituencies, which despite the allegations and criticism of each other’s policies, realized that the opposition and the government have to work as One to form the best policy in giving the basic fundamental right to its citizens- The Freedom of Speech and Expression.
The course of the debate started with the leader of the house and the opposition speaking at great lengths of what their respective parties had done. The Parliament discussed the Aseem Trivedi case, the sedition of Arundhati Roy, the Syed Ali Gilani controversy, Pre-censorship of the internet and difficulties in bringing reforms. Day 2 session saw the parties trying to come to a unified solution of the agenda and to come up with a Bill that covers all the aspects of freedom of speech and expression without violating it.The session witnessed great debates, prose and poetry, where the students got a feel of the real world scenario.

November 3, 2012: JIIT Dance Hub - Jhankaar organised Dandiya Night on 3 November 2012.

November 3, 2012: Inter-house singing competition organized at JIIT128 campus.

October 30, 2012: JIIT Accenture Innovation Center inaugurated on 30 October. Accenture conducted Knowledge Sessions on Enterprise Resource Planning for JIIT students spread across 30 contact hours by experienced professionals form Accenture. The highly interactive sessions included lectures, case studies, assignments, group discussions, written test and quizzes on ERP.

October 8-10, 2012: Ericsson conducted a three day Empower Training programme for BTech ECE students.

October 4-5, 2012: Google Developers Group JIIT Noida, held a hands-on workshop on ‘HTML5’ in JIIT62 and JIIT128 on 4th-5th October 2012 from 4-6pm. This was the GDG JIIT Noida’s 2nd workshop.
The workshop aimed at making the students familiar with HTML5 and audience of 130+ students speaks much about the dedication the team had put in to organize the workshop.

October 3, 2012: The Literary Hub of JIIT Noida organized Intra-College English Debate Competition 2012.

September 28-29, 2012: Microcontroller Based System and Robotics Hub organized Manual Robotics event for 1st year students.

August 17, 2012: Google Developers Group JIIT Noida organized a talk-event on 17th August at JIIT62 and on 16th August at JIIT128. The talk event-cum-orientation for first year was largely appreciated by students and attended in mass. Attendance of 230+ students in JIIT62 and 200+ students in JIIT128 speaks for the success of the event.

May 27, 2012: Department of CSE&IT organised a Project exhibition where more than 400 students displayed their work.

April 29, 2012: Farewell party organized for BTech final year students on 29 April 2012.

March 30-April 1, 2012: Annual College Festival: Impressions 2012- a techno-cultural –managerial fest, a pulsating festival with an array of events including programming contests, robotics, fashion shows, theme- walk, choreography, creative challenges, street plays and much more.

March 20, 2012: Students of JIIT 128 organized Converge-2012- a Techno Cultural Festival

March 4, 2012: The Jaypee Model United Nations (JMUN) was held at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology from 3rd -5th March, 2012. The JMUN conference brought together over 25 colleges and university students from all over the country to recreate the General Assembly (GA), the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Security Council (SC). JMUN was co-sponsored by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) and Kazo. Over a span of 3 days, delegates discussed and deliberated upon issues that plague the modern world. Effective solutions were sought and their repercussions on the affected population were analyzed.

28 April 2010: Padmashri and Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Shovana Narayan an eminent and venerated maestro of KATHAK performed KATHAK dance recital under the aegis of SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth).

April 2010: Learning Resource Centre: Awarded Highest usage for ACM digital library among the self supporting institutions under AICTE-INDEST Consortium for the consecutive 3rd year.

April 12-14, 2010 : Our student Mr. Aniket Bera was selected among the Top 25 Microsoft Student Partners to attend India's Biggest IT Conference, TechED 2010, at Bangalore. This is a very prestigious 3 day conference where the Industry leaders like Mr. Steve Balmer, Mr. Bill Gates come. He is selected and sponsored by Microsoft.

March 16, 2010: A farewell program was organized for MBA batch (2008-10) final year students.

March 15 - 18, 2010: IEEE Society, JYC organized “CONSTELLATION an array of events ANDROMEDA-   a “creative poster making competition”, online quiz event and robotics event.

March 12-13, 2010: 18 Students from JIIT, JIET & JUIT were respectively selected to participate in “India Today Conclave” held at Taj Palace Hotel, Delhi. Sessions were held their on various topics. Dignitaries like Ministers, Filmmakers, Philosopher and renowned guests from across the world participated in  the conclave.

March 12, 2010: “InnoVAS Innovators contest 2009-10” was organized for gathering of innovative ideas in specific areas of VAS (Value added services) in mobile technology.

February 22, 2010: The Institute held its 6th Annual Convocation on 22 February 2010. The function was graced by Prof William C. Webster, Former Provost, University of California, Berkeley who delivered the Convocation address.

February 4 - 7, 2010: Inter college festival “JIVE”, was organized at campus which included various cultural, social & educational programs.

January 26, 2010: Institute celebrated Nations 61st Republic Day.

January 2, 2010: Celebrated as Workers Day at Institute.
