Abstract |
: |
Over the last several decades the user experience of software applications have been
undergoing rapid transformations. Correspondingly, the programming models also have been evolving to support newer paradigms. The
advent of World Wide Web ushered in an era of globally distributed applications providing great reach. However, during the early to
mid 90's, these applications had poor interactivity and were highly limited in terms of the user experience. Adobe, with its Flash
and Flex technology significantly altered this scenario, pioneering a new landscape of Rich Internet Applications that offers a great
user experience combined with the reach of traditional web applications. Today we are witnessing another major inflection point with
Adobe AIR redefining the web experience further by integrating the web applications with the desktop. This key note will cover the
evolution of the Rich Internet Applications, future directions of this technology and the value that this technology holds to the
business enterprises.
