Lokendra Shastri

Dr. Lokendra Shastri is General Manager – Research, and Head, Center for Knowledge Driven Information Systems, SETLabs, at Infosys Technologies. Prior to joining Infosys, he was at the International Computer Science Institute, Berkeley and on the faculty of CIS Department, University of Pennsylvania. He received a B.E. in Electronics from BITS, Pilani, an MS in CS from IIT, Madras, and a PhD in CS from the University of Rochester. Dr. Shastri has made significant contributions in the areas of scalable, parallel models of knowledge representation and inference, semantic networks, neural networks, and episodic memory. He has authored one book and over seventy peer reviewed article and has given numerous colloquia at universities and research labs. Dr. Shastri has served on the editorial boards of Connection Science and IEEE Expert, the advisory board of Human Cognitive Processing, and the program committees of conferences on AI and Cognitive Science.
