  • Knuth Programming Hub

KNUTH Programming Hub (https://www.facebook.com/groups/jiit.knuth/members/) is the programming hub of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. Around 8500 students (current students of JIIT, JIIT Alumni, Students and Alumni of various renowned institutions) and professionals are the active members of the official Facebook page of the hub. Throughout the year, various events e.g. programming competitions – online and onsite, workshops, debugging events, etc are organised by the student and faculty coordination team of the hub. 

These events majorly include,

  • Team (of maximum 3 participants) Based Programming Competition.
    • Execute(online and onsite programming competition where team size is of maximum 3 students – organised twice/thrice in a year since 2011)
    • KNUTH Cup(online and onsite programming competition where team size is of maximum 3 students – organised once in a year since 2012)

  • Individual Programming Competition
    • Encode(online and onsite programming competition where team size is of 1 student – organised once in a year since 2014)

  • Weekly Programming Workshops
    • Code Class Noob (onsite programming workshop for beginners – organised every Wednesday or Thursday in the months of September and October)
    • Code Class Pro(onsite programming workshop at expert level – organised every Wednesday or Thursday in the months of September and October)

  • Meet-up and Talks
    • The coordination team often conducts interactive sessions (one to one or one to many modes) with some of the existing achievers and JIIT Alumni (especially part of the Programming Hub at their own time).
    • The coordination team of the hub motivates the students and accordingly trained to participate in various inter collegiate online/onsite programming competitions, e.g. ACM ICPC, short and long challenges of various online judges, etc.

 

Including the students of JIIT (Sector 62 Noida and Sector 128 Noida) around 5000 students from renowned institutions across India participate in various events conducted by the hub throughout the year. These include IITs, NITs, IIITs, DTU, NSIT, BITS Pilani, ISM Dhanbad, DAIICT, LNMIT, and Nirma University, etc. Throughout the year, online and onsite events are organised on different online judges, which include CodeChef, HackerRank, HackerEarth, etc.
