M.Tech in Information Technology and Entrepreneurship is a 2 year full-time postgraduate programme, which has four semesters. The course is carefully tailored to build entrepreneurial direction among young engineering scholars. This course enables them to make the best of knowledge related to information technology and entrepreneurship. The idea is to let the engineering students absorb ‘business’ expertise and orient them towards entrepreneurship by imbibing ‘soft’ business skills. The initiative also inculcates hard business skills to create and manage new endeavours, using design thinking and practical tools for translating engineering to commercial products. The primary goals of Masters in Computer Science specialisations are to encourage an entrepreneurial mindset in engineering students, while mentoring and supporting students.

There are 6 core courses, 5 electives, 2 audit, 1 term paper/seminar and 4 lab courses. The students are required to do two project based learning courses of 6 credits each during second and third semesters. The students are also required to take 3 elective courses during first semester and 2 elective courses during the second semester of 3 credits each. The fourth semester is for Dissertation/Industrial Project/Entrepreneurial Project of 16 credits. The total requirement for the programme is 68 credits.

M. Tech in Information Technology enables students to adapt hardware, software and managerial skills, which are extremely important for existing in competitive IT engineering. It gives students a platform to specialise in the fields like design, innovation, and incubation, digital business marketing, finance and law for digital business, IoT system, and data science with practical aspects. Some of the elective courses are Management Econometrics, Financial Analytics, Leadership and Strategy Management, Digital Business Marketing-II, Human Resource Management and Analytics, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Customer Relation Management and Analytics, Game Theory and Business Intelligence, Ethics and Law in Social Data Analytics.
