JIVE-X : Fascinations Unveiled

Promising what is has been in the past years, JIVE was back as a bigger, better extravaganza – JIVE-X. In the onset of spring, JIVE-X was held from February 4th – 7th. Based on a theme of ‘Fascinations Unveiled’, JIVE-X truly colored the dreams of all.  With over a hundred events and four enchanting nights, JIVE-X fluttered like a butterfly in the crowds, even with the last semester’s JIVE09- Panchatatva was etched deeply in our minds. Who better to open JIVE-X than the king of Sufi music – Kailasa’s enthralling performance and captivating music made its mark, a mark never to be forgotten. Events like ‘NIPUN’, Trendencia, Panache – Theme walk, War of the Bands, Utthan, Soochna Aakhon Dekhi –The Fourth Estate, Talk Show and Artemis saw active participation of enthusiastic students from all over NCR and India. Over 15 food and game stalls made sure the participants were always energized for more.
This year each society had a mascot. The mermaid, mystical creature of a sea which has intrigued our curiosity for ages, was the mascot of literary society. Greek legend Hercules a symbol of sportsman ship and strength led the sports society. Slowly brewing a magical portion the witch, the mascot of creative society, brought out the creative genius and unveiled all the fascinations. Representing the cultural society was musical angel with wings soaring high into the enchanted world. Serving their way into your hearts with Aladdin’s Genie was the Hospitality society. Mind! Iron human made! The robot of the technical society came with new challenges this JIVE.
Apart from just being a fun and frolic event, the fest also saw many student volunteers enrolling and contributing to the cause of the World Wildlife Foundation.
