Objective of the Programme

The Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (MA JMC) program is designed to provide advanced knowledge and skills to students aspiring to become leaders in the media and communication fields. The program aims to develop a deep understanding of media theories, research methodologies, and advanced practical skills essential for high-level positions in journalism, media management, and communication industries. It seeks to produce graduates who are not only proficient in traditional media practices but also equipped to adapt to the rapidly evolving digital landscape. The MA JMC program prepares students for senior roles in media organizations, including positions such as senior reporters, editors, media managers, communication strategists, and media consultants. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have passed UG or equivalent examination from any recognized university, securing a minimum of 55% for general category, with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and other disadvantaged groups.

Candidate should have secured a Pass Grade in all subjects of qualifying exam.

Admission Process

  • Direct Admissions: Candidates with CGPA ≥7.5 or equivalent in their qualifying degree (UG Program) will be eligible for direct admissions
  • CUET-PG: Admission will be offered to eligible candidates based on marks obtained in CUET-PG
  • JIIT-PGET: Admission will be offered to eligible candidates based on marks obtained in JIIT-PGET

Scholarship

Up to 50% waiver in tuition fee will be offered to first 10 meritorious candidates with CGPA ≥7.5
