Prof. S. C. Dutta Roy

  • Suhash Chandra Dutta Roy earned his BSc (Hons) in Physics (1956), MSc (Tech) in Radio Physics and Electronics (1959), and DPhil degree (1965) all from the University of Calcutta. He worked as Research Officer (Electronics) at the River Research Institute,West Bengal (WB) for two years, before joining the University of Kalyani, as a lecturer. He was Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Minnesota (1965-68) before he joined IIT, Delhi as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering. He was promoted to Professor in 1970 and served as the Head of the Department as well as Dean of Undergraduate Studies. On sabbatical leave from IIT Delhi, he spent a year at the University of Leeds and another year at the Iowa State University. After retirement in 1998, he continued at IIT Delhi, first as an Emeritus Fellow, then as INSA Senior Scientist, and finally as an INSA Honorary Scientist till 2010. Currently, he continues as INSA Honorary Scientist working from home and pursuing his research on circuits, systems and signal processing.
