Microcontroller-Based Systems and Robotics Hub (μCR)

At μCR, learning goes beyond theory. Through workshops, mentorship, and project-based challenges, students gain experience in:

• Flagship Event – Spectra:
  Our signature event, Spectra, is the heart of μCR — a thrilling celebration of creativity, engineering, and team spirit. This year, Spectra began with a hands-on Hovercraft Workshop, where 100+ students participated in teams to design and build their own hovercrafts. Each team was paired with a dedicated mentor from μCR to guide them through the complete process: ideation, construction, and testing. The workshop concluded with a high-energy track competition, where these student-built hovercrafts raced through a custom-designed arena, judged on performance and innovation. Spectra culminated in a massive Robotics Track Night at the Open Air Theatre (OAT), where manual and autonomous robots — crafted from scratch by our members — competed in dynamic challenges. The air buzzed with excitement, with cheering crowds and robots in action, marking one of the most vibrant nights on campus.
• Synergy 2025 – Machine Mirage & Circuit Rush:
  μCR amped up the energy at Synergy 2025 with two dynamic events: Circuit Rush: A fast-paced robotics race where bots picked, placed, sorted, and navigated obstacles under time pressure. Machine Mirage: A bold ideathon inviting futuristic, out-of-the-box robotic concepts — the crazier, the better!
• Exhibitions & Outreach: 
  μCR members showcased projects in institute-wide exhibitions and technical festivals, drawing wide attention from across departments.

μCR follows a four-tier system

First- and second-year students join as participants, undergo foundational training, and collaborate on projects. Dedicated learners rise as volunteers, contributing to technical and operational roles. The hub is coordinated by a core student team and guided by experienced mentors.

• CircuitRush & Machine Mirage (Synergy)
  Synergy 2025 featured Circuit Rush, a time-based pick-and-place robotics challenge, and Machine Mirage, an innovative idea pitching event. The competition highlighted participants' engineering precision, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in a dynamic and engaging environment.
• Spectra
  Spectra was an engaging hovercraft design and racing competition where teams engineered and raced their own crafts on a timed track. Pushpak Viman stood out with superior design and control, securing the first place in the challenge.
• Project Exhibition 
  Project Exhibition was a vibrant annual showcase where students presented innovative projects in robotics, automation, and embedded systems, demonstrating practical solutions, creative thinking, and technological advancement to peers, mentors, and industry experts.
• Orientation Workshop
  The 3-day Orientation Workshop on Manual Robotics 2024 introduced freshers to the fundamentals of robotic design, mechanical systems, and control. With hands-on sessions and guided activities, participants gained practical experience in building and operating basic manually controlled robots.
• Exhibition
  Our student members put in a lot of effort and time to build their Innovative projects. A little Appreciation goes a long way. Hence, we will exhibit their talent and hardwork in this event.
• Two Day Robotics Event
  Carrying on the legacy forward, our hub will soon come up with an amazing robot competition The event will have several workshops, hands-on sessions and track Races.
• Workshop
  We will organise interactive workshops wherein students will learn to design and build an automated robot using microcontrollers. The workshop will be followed by a hands-on session.
