The Multidisciplinary Initiative for Nuance and Deliberation is a student-led intellectual initiative at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology that promotes research-oriented discussion and informed civic thinking. It brings together students interested in economics, psychology, behavioural science, public policy, media, and society, and encourages them to engage with complex issues thoughtfully rather than react to them quickly.
At MIND, conversations are shaped by evidence, careful reading, and respectful exchange. The initiative focuses on building habits of strong inquiry by encouraging students to ask sharper questions, examine arguments critically, and connect academic ideas with real-world challenges. Through research deep dives, structured media discussions, and guided dialogues, MIND supports the development of critical thinking, clarity in expression, and confidence in public speaking.
As part of its core activities, MIND conducts research-focused sessions such as deep dives into behavioural economics, guided film and media discussions from a socio-economic perspective, and an Annual Union Budget Review that critically examines policy priorities and their implications for the economy and society. These initiatives reflect MIND’s commitment to depth, nuance, and informed analysis.
