Parola, the official literary society of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), is a vibrant community of literature enthusiasts, writers, poets, and orators. True to its Italian name meaning “word” or “speech,” Parola celebrates the power of language, where words weave magic, ideas take flight, and thoughts find a voice.
The society nurtures literary talent by providing a platform for creative and intellectual expression through debates, poetry recitals, creative writing, and book discussions. Students here don’t just work; they evolve, discover their potential, and create lasting memories on and off the stage.

Parola operates through dedicated departments
Parola’s flagship events include JOUST, the annual literary fest, Jaypee Parliamentary Debate, and Conventional Debate Competitions. Beyond events, Parola is about building stories, friendships, and experiences, it’s not just what you do, but who you become in the process.
The JOUST, hosted annually by Parola – the official literary hub of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, is a premier celebration of literature, debate, diplomacy, and creative expression. Over the years, it has become one of the most anticipated and prestigious literary festivals in the Delhi NCR collegiate circuit, attracting participants from across India.
Held on 16th–17th November 2024, the 7th edition of The Joust welcomed over 200 delegates and participants and brought the JIIT campus to life with stimulating debates, powerful performances, and engaging literary contests.
The festival aimed to sharpen participants’ communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills, while celebrating the power of words and expression.
The Joust is one of the few literary festivals in India that hosts both MUN and Indian-style committees. This year’s simulations explored deeply relevant global and national issues, empowering youth diplomacy and problem-solving.
Since its inception, The Joust has grown into a powerful platform for aspiring writers, orators, diplomats, and artists. It is a place where literature meets leadership, and words are not just spoken — they spark ideas, shape identities, and change the world.
Join us every year at JIIT, Sector 62, Noida, for an unforgettable journey into the world of expression and excellence.
A Premier Stage for Hindi Parliamentary Excellence
JPD, the Hindi Parliamentary Debate hosted by our debating society , has fast ascended to the upper echelons of the Delhi debate circuit. With its uncompromising intellectual rigour, stellar adjudication panels, and a legacy of hosting refined, articulate debaters, JPD has grown into a benchmark of prestige and eloquence in the world of Hindi debating.
Over two celebrated editions, JPD has drawn participation from some of the finest institutions, where voices spar not just to win arguments, but to ignite thought. The motions span a bold spectrum – from political realism to philosophical dilemmas – ensuring that every round is a battlefield of reason, rhetoric, and resolve.
With its third edition on the horizon, JPD is not just returning – it’s returning with renewed vigour, sharpened ambition, and an even grander scale. Backed by top-tier adjudicators and an audience that thrives on nuance, the stage is set once again for a confluence of firebrand intellects and fearless expression.
This isn’t just a debate.
This is JPD – where Hindi finds its power, and ideas find their moment.
At the heart of Jaypee’s intellectual and cultural life stands the Jaypee Debating Society, a space where thought meets articulation, and ideas are not just spoken but tested, refined, and reimagined.
We believe debating is not a skill but a discipline and we train for it with rigour, consistency, and care.
DebSoc is one of the most active and decorated student bodies of the university, widely known across the Delhi NCR circuit for its excellence in competitive debating and its deeply collaborative internal culture. With members ranging from first-year students to final-year seniors, DebSoc runs a vibrant calendar of discussions, mock debates, and critical dialogue, nurturing students not just to speak but to think.
We host weekly sessions covering themes as wide-ranging as public policy, ethics, international relations, governance, philosophy, politics and identity politics. Our focus spans both English and Hindi debating formats - Parliamentary, Conventional, and MUNs which allow students to explore language and argumentation in its most dynamic forms.
Beyond campus, DebSoc regularly represents JIIT at top-tier debating tournaments and MUNs across Delhi NCR and has consistently brought home laurels, becoming the hub with the highest number of awards, with multiple titles to its name. Despite our success, our goal is never just trophies. It’s transformation.
DebSoc is proud to have built a space where students overcome stage fear, discover their voice, and grow into thinkers, leaders, and collaborators.
What sets us apart is not just our achievements, but our commitment to growth. Seniors mentor juniors. Failures are reviewed, not buried. And every session is designed to make you sharper in how you speak, how you listen, and how you see the world.
Through discipline, dialogue, and a relentless commitment to excellence, DebSoc continues to shape students into articulate, informed, and courageous individuals who carry the power of ideas beyond the podium.
Over the past three years, the Jaypee Debating Society has consistently distinguished itself across the national debating and Model United Nations circuits not only through participation, but by securing over 150+ awards in highly competitive spaces. These accolades span a range of formats including MUNs, Hindi Parliamentary Debates, Asian Parliamentary Debates, Conventional Debates, and Policy Conventions.
In the Model UN arena, our delegations have earned numerous awards, including High Commendations, Special Mentions, Honourable Mentions, and more, a testament to both our rigorous training and our commitment to research, articulation, and diplomacy.
In The Joust 2024, Jaypee was awarded Best Delegation, marking one of our most prestigious MUN victories to date.
Gunjan Jain was awarded High Commendation at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Conclave MUN 2024, representing our continued excellence at individual and delegation levels.

Similarly, Pragyan Sharma and Shambhavi Tripathi made a break in Jaypee Parliamentary Debate (JPD) 2023, further solidifying our impact on home ground and beyond.

Notably, Manya Gangoli was recognized as a breaking adjudicator at Mukhtalif 2024, organised by the College of Vocational Studies, Delhi University, a mark of her excellence in analysis and adjudication at a high level of competitive debate.
Beyond these, the society has actively participated in a wide spectrum of competitions including Just-a-Minute rounds (JAMs), conventional debates, and policy conventions bringing laurels to the university across formats and platforms.
Through all of these accomplishments, what remains constant is our commitment to excellence, integrity, and growth not just as a society, but as a community of thinkers, collaborators, and leaders.
