Aparna Arya

Biography

She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and 
Engineering. She holds an M.Tech degree in Software Engineering and has qualified the GATE 
examination. Prior to joining academia, she worked as a Software Development Engineer at Computer 
Age Management Services (CAMS), Chennai, where she gained valuable industry experience in 
software development and engineering practices. Her academic and professional background reflects a 
strong foundation in core computer science subjects, complemented by practical expertise in software 
development. 

Research Highlights

Her research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), 
and Deep Learning, with a specialization in Document Information Retrieval. She has published 
research on the application of deep learning models such as CNN, RNN, DNN, and Random Multimodel 
Deep Learning (RMDL) to improve document retrieval accuracy and efficiency. Her work includes a 
comprehensive review of advancements in deep learning-based retrieval systems and an IEEE 
conference publication proposing an RMDL-based framework for medical document retrieval using the 
CORD-19 dataset. Her research interests include intelligent information retrieval, AI-driven systems, 
and machine learning applications for solving real-world problems.
