Dr. Ashish Kumar

Biography

Dr. Kumar is an academician and researcher in the field of Computer Science and
Engineering, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, since 2021. He has completed Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, with a research focus on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Remote Sensing—particularly leveraging freely available satellite data for cost-effective Earth observation.

He earned his M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from BTKIT (Government
Engineering College), Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun in 2013, and a
B.Tech in the same discipline from HNB Garhwal Central University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand in 2009.

With nearly 15 years of academic experience, he has taught a range of foundational subjects, including Discrete Mathematics, Theory of Automata, Database Management Systems, Operating System, and Soft Computing.

Research Highlights

Dr. Kumar research portfolio includes more than 20 publications in reputed international journals and edited volumes, as well as a paper presented at an international conference. Additionally, he holds a registered design patent for a wearable health monitoring device. 

He has actively contributed to the academic community by serving as an organizing committee member and session chair at several IEEE, Springer, and IET conferences, as well as national workshops. His professional strengths include punctuality, adaptability, and a proactive attitude. 

His academic journey reflects a commitment to solving real-world environmental monitoring problems using cost-efficient, scalable, and AI-driven solutions, making significant contributions to the fields of remote sensing and geospatial intelligence.
