Biography
Dr. Abhay Kumar is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida. He has over 11 years of academic teaching experience along with 2 years of industrial research experience.
He completed his Ph.D. from JIIT Noida, specializing in Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) antennas, with applications in X, Ku, and K bands. He holds an M.Tech. in Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad (2014), where he was awarded the Institute Gold Medal, and a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida (2010).
Dr. Kumar’s research interests span diverse and interdisciplinary domains, including Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology, antenna, filter, and microwave component design for X, Ku, and K bands, microwave circuits and systems, embedded and electronic system design, robotics and soft computing, as well as speech and audio signal processing. He has taught a wide spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Introduction to IoT, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, DSP, Radar Signals and Systems, Electromagnetic Theory, Antenna and Wave Propagation, RF and Microwave Engineering, and Advanced Embedded Systems. He has significantly contributed to establishing advanced laboratories at JIIT, including the Robotics and AI Lab (Sector 62), e-Yantra Robotics Lab (with IIT Bombay under MHRD), IoT Lab, and RF and Anechoic Chamber Lab (Sector 128). He also serves as Program Coordinator for Robotics and AI, IEEE Student Branch Counselor, and member of IIC and ICC, and has received prestigious national awards and recognitions.
