Dr. Ankita Wadhwa

Biography

Dr. Ankita Wadhwa is an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering & IT at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, with over 12 years of academic experience. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from JIIT in 2022, M.Tech. in Information Systems from Delhi Technological University (2011–2013), and B.Tech. in Information Technology from GGSIPU (2007–2011). She has taught a wide range of courses such as Software Development Fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms and Problem solving, Object oriented Programming, Advanced Data Structures, and Graph algorithms. During her teaching career of more than 12 years, she has supervised more than 30 undergraduate projects. Currently, under her guidance two students are pursuing their PhD. In addition to her academic work, Dr. Ankita has been actively involved as organizing member in departmental conference (IC3) and annual technical fest as well as programming hackathons at JIIT.

Research Highlights

Dr. Ankita’s research interests lie at the intersection of spatial data science and computational intelligence, with a focus on extracting meaningful patterns from spatial and spatio-temporal datasets for real-world societal applications. Her work explores the use of meta-heuristic optimization algorithms to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of spatial analysis, enabling robust pattern detection in complex, dynamic, and large-scale data environments. By integrating advanced optimization techniques with geospatial analytics, her work addresses challenges in domains such as public health, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and transportation systems. This interdisciplinary approach combines data-driven insights with intelligent computational models, contributing to scalable and adaptive decision-support systems for solving pressing societal problems in spatial and spatio-temporal domains.
