Biography
Dr. Bhawna Gupta serves as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, bringing over 22 years of expertise in teaching, research, and academic leadership. A Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow of IETE, and member of IEI, IEEE Women in Engineering, and IEEE Young Professionals, she specializes in Biomedical Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Image Processing.
Dr. Gupta earned her Ph.D. from JIIT, focusing on hybrid de-speckling techniques for ultrasound images, complemented by M.Tech and B.Tech in Electronics from Aligarh Muslim University, both with First Division Honors. She has filed two patents and has published extensively, including a book, Introduction to Digital Systems (2018), multiple SCIE/Scopus-indexed journal papers, IEEE conference papers, and a book chapter on post-pandemic research opportunities. Her research contributions include innovative ultrasound speckle reduction techniques and leadership in a funded project on self-navigating vehicles for the specially-abled (JIIT, ongoing).
Dr. Gupta has established the Basic Electronics Lab, contributed to the Advanced DSP Lab, and guided over 100 M.Tech and B.Tech projects. She holds key roles in JIIT’s Departmental Quality Assurance Cell, IEEE-co-sponsored ICSC conference organizing, and alumni and curriculum committees. Dr. Gupta’s accolades include Coursera certifications in Neural Networks and Python, excellent AICTE SLA ratings, and a 1995 Certificate of Merit for academic excellence. She has delivered talks on 5G opportunities and organized workshops, fostering collaboration with IIT Guwahati and industry partners.
