Dr. Monika Shukla joined the Department of Biotechnology at the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology as an Assistant Professor in December 2024.Before her appointment at JIIT, Dr. Shukla worked as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Applied Medicines and Research for six years. There she was an active member of Internal Quality Assurance Cell and played a key role in NAAC accreditation of the college. Prior to this, she has worked in places like National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar and Amity University.

Dr. Shukla holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, botany, zoology (2001) from CCS University Meerut and a Master of Science in Microbiology (2003) from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna University, Sri Nagar, Garhwal. She earned her Ph.D. in Biotechnology in 2018 from the Department of Biotechnology, School of Engineering & Technology, Sharda University, specializing in the study of effect of different abiotic stresses on the antioxidant defense system of medicinal plants and characterization of antioxidant enzymes. She has attended many international and national conferences and presented her research work. She has several publications to her credit. She is presently focused in the area of Plant Biochemistry, Phytoremediation and Bioremediation.
