Biography

Dr. Nitin Muchhal is working asAssistant Professor (Senior Grade)in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, with over 13 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership.

Dr. Nitin Muchhal completed his M.Tech (Honours) from University of Delhi South Campus in 2007. He has done his Ph.D from JIIT Noida in 2020. Later, He received ERCIM (European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics) Alain Bensoussan fellowship and worked as Postdoc Fellow with Fraunhofer-InstitutfürIntegrierteSchaltungen (IIS), Germanyfrom 2021-23.

He has published more than 20 articles in refereed journals and international conferences in India and abroad. He has qualified UGC NET and done few NPTEL certifications with elite tag. Moreover, he is serving as reviewer in few journals including IEEE Microwave and Wireless component Letter, IET Microwaves Antennas and Propagation, International Journal of Microwave and Computer Aided Engineering (Wiley Journals), IETE Journal of Electronics, MDPI Journals and Progress in Electromagnetic Research (PIER) Journals etc, He is Fellow of IETE, and Member of IEEE and IE(I).

Research Highlights

Dr Nitin Muchhal research focuses on design of compact and selective bandpass filter using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and Microstrip techniques. His research also covers design of high gain wide band antennas using SIW Cavity backed antenna, Vivaldi antenna etc.

Dr Nitin Muchhal worked with Fraunhofer Institute of Integrated Circuits (IIS), Germany under Prof. (Dr.-Ing) Kurt Blau and Dr.-Ing. Mostafa Elkhouly. He was involved in design of highly selective Band Pass Filters (BPFs) and Filter Bank using microstrip technique in the range of 10 GHz - 40 GHz for various SATCOM and 5G applications. 

Also, He was involved in design ofwide band high gain Antipodal Vivaldi Antennas for similar applications.His work includes 30+ indexed journal publications, international conferences, patent, and contributions to book chapters. She has presented his research at IEEE international conferences and has received recognition for his technical contributions.
