Dr. Rashmi Kushwah

Biography

Dr. Rashmi Kushwah is an accomplished academician and researcher with over 16 years of experience in higher education. She is currently serving as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, India. She holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from ABV-IIITM Gwalior in 2018, B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from UIT Barkatullah University, Bhopal in 2006, and M.Tech. in Software Engineering from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak in 2009.

Dr. Kushwah has significant experience as an NBA module coordinator for Computer Science courses and is a core member of the department's NAAC team. She actively contributes to institutional-level responsibilities including the Evaluative Report of the Department, Institution Industry Linkage Cell, Program Assessment Committee, Student Induction Program for Universal Human Values, OutcomeBased Education, and serves as the Departmental PhD Coordinator and Question Paper Repository Coordinator at the JIIT Wish Town campus.

Her core teaching and research interests lie in wireless networks, ad hoc and sensor networks, security and cryptography, Internet of Things (IoT), and cybersecurity. She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, mentors’ students, and currently guiding two Ph.D. scholars. She has also supervised numerous B.Tech. projects. Dr. Kushwah has authored over 30 research publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and book chapters, with 24 indexed in Scopus. She is a member of professional organizations including IEEE, ACM, ACM-W, IAENG, and IFERP, and serves on editorial boards and conference program committees.

Research Highlights

Dr. Rashmi Kushwah’s research focuses on wireless communication, IoT networks, and intelligent optimization techniques for enhancing network performance and security. Her work addresses critical challenges in multipath routing, energy efficiency, and secure communication in wireless sensor networks, MANETs, and heterogeneous IoT architectures. She has published 24 papers indexed in Scopus, including high-quality journals such as Wireless Networks, Wireless Personal Computer, Telecommunication Systems, Cluster Computing, The Journal of Supercomputing, Soft Computing, International Journal of Wireless Information Networks, and International Journal of Information Technology.

She has contributed to optimization-based gateway selection in hybrid MANETs, load balancing using genetic algorithms, and intelligent scheduling in cross-technology IoT systems involving Wi-Fi and ZigBee. Her work also includes the application of heuristic algorithms such as the modified Whale Optimization Algorithm to improve neural network performance. Dr. Kushwah has developed queuingtheoretic models for analyzing multipath delays in Internet-integrated MANETs and has explored energy-delay trade-offs and lightweight security protocols for IoT applications.

She actively contributes as a reviewer for reputed international journals, including Evolutionary Intelligence, Wireless personal communication, wireless networks, Int. J. of Grid and Utility Computing, Scientific Reports, Discover Computing, and International Journal of Technology. She also serves as a technical program committee member for conferences such as ICSC 2025, IHICS 2023, EAIC-2025, DSMLAI 2021, ICSCCC 2021. Her research continues to advance the design of efficient, secure, and scalable wireless communication systems with interdisciplinary relevance across AI, networking, and cybersecurity domains.
