Biography

Dr. Shruti Jaiswal is working as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience. Her research interest includes Software Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Security Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

She has numerous publications in international journals and conferences. She is currently working as a Co- PI on a DST- SERB sponsored project on obscene image detection and exclusion from image capturing devices. She is currently guiding two Ph.D. candidates in the area of security and federated learning.

She is the senior member of IEEE and other professional societies ACM, ISOC, IAENG. She is active reviewer of different journals and conferences. She has taught subjects like Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Concepts & Programming in C, Object Oriented Techniques, Computer Organization, Software Project Management, etc.

Research Highlights

Dr. Shruti Jaiswal’s research focuses on building secure, intelligent, and reliable computing systems by integrating principles of software security engineering, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, blockchain, and federated learning. Her doctoral work proposed an engineering framework for embedding and validating security across software systems, forming the foundation of her continued contributions in system security and assurance. She has published extensively in reputed Scopus- and SCI-indexed journals, addressing critical challenges in IoT security, cloud security validation, lightweight blockchain for resource-constrained environments, and secure data analytics.

In recent years, her research has expanded toward interdisciplinary applications of AI and machine learning in healthcare, including brain disorder analysis, multiple myeloma segmentation, heart failure prediction, and privacy-preserving federated learning for healthcare informatics.

She is the Principal Investigator of a SERB-funded Core Research Grant (2024–2026) focused on detection and exclusion of obscene images in image-capturing devices, reflecting strong industry and societal relevance. Through active Ph.D. supervision, collaborations, and leadership roles, she continues to contribute to advancing secure, ethical, and application-oriented computing research.
