Biography

Dr. Himanshu Chaudhary is an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. He holds a Ph.D. in Intelligent Controller Design for Optical Fine Pointing Systems from Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi (2021), along with an M.Tech in Control and Instrumentation from Electrical Engineering Department, Jamia Millia Islamia University and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from UPTU Lucknow. During his Ph.D., he also worked with LASTEC Lab, DRDO for almost 3.5 years as Research fellow. At DRDO, He contributed to modeling, simulation, and control algorithm development for dual-axis gimbal platforms, laser-based electro-optical pointing systems, and advanced control solutions.

Before joining JIIT in July 2025, He served for around 4 years at KIET Group of Institutions, Delhi NCR Ghaziabad, as Assistant Professor, Assistant Dean (R&D), and Head In-charge of the Centre of Excellence for Robotics and Mechatronics.

His academic engagements also include guiding multiple student teams in national-level robotics competitions and leading the development of innovative projects such as autonomous drone development, Rail-raksha BoT, Prosthetic arms, other robotic module, and AI-driven IoT systems.His prominent research interest includes; Control system, Advanced control algorithm design, Robotics and IoT systems, Optmization Algorithms and Ad-HoC networks.

Research Highlights

"Dr. Himanshu Chaudhary’s research encompasses precision pointing systems, where he has developed conventional, intelligent and fuzzy control strategies for dual-axis gimbal and laser beam steering systems (Fast steering mirror); AI and IoT applications including AI-based solutions for avalanche forecasting, cattle behaviour monitoring, and contamination detection in milk supply chains; and robotics and mechatronics, focusing on the design and prototyping of robotic arm, autonomous navigation systems, prosthetic devices, and smart safety solutions. He has applied control system optimization techniques using evolutionary algorithms such as Grey Wolf Optimizer and ANFIS etc., and actively engaged in collaborative research through funded proposals with DRDO, and academic partners, including participation in IIT Delhi’s Summer Faculty Research Fellowship Program and Delhi Technical University (DTU). His work integrates advanced control algorithms, computer vision, and machine learning into practical engineering solutions. Notable projects — also filed as patents — include an intelligent garbage collection and classification system powered by green energy with ML-based waste classification and solar operation, and a stress analysis system employing heart rate variability (HRV) for real-time, non-invasive stress monitoring. His prominent research interest includes; Control system, Advanced control algorithm design, Robotics and IoT systems, Optmization Algorithms and Ad-HoC networks."
