Ms. Amrita Kaul

Biography

Ms. Amrita Kaul is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, with over 14 years of rich academic experience. She is NPTEL-certified in Digital Electronics and Circuits and IELTS-certified (2010 and 2016). She has expertise in Communication Systems and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from JIIT. Her academic credentials include a Master of Technology (M. Tech) in ECE from MDU, Rohtak; a Master of Science (M.S.) in Telecommunication Networks from the University of Technology, Australia; and a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in ECE from UPTU. Ms. Kaul has published more than 10 research papers in reputed indexed journals, contributed to book chapters, and presented her work at leading national and international conferences. Her research interests span Cell-Free (CF) Communication, Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), Energy-Efficient Wireless Communication, Security in Wireless Networks, Massive MIMO for Aerial Platforms, and the integration of Machine Learning in Wireless Networks. As a committed mentor, she has supervised numerous undergraduate projects and actively contributed to academic enrichment through organizing and participating in workshops, seminars, and faculty development programs.

Research Highlights

Ms. Amrita Kaul’s research focuses on enhancing the performance, coverage, and reliability of next-generation wireless communication systems through innovative architectures and intelligent optimization. Her work spans UAV-assisted communication, cell-free massive MIMO networks, hybrid infrastructure (terrestrial–aerial) integration, and intelligent clustering algorithms for network efficiency. She has extensively investigated swarm-based UAV deployments, developing strategies for optimal placement, user association, and dynamic resource allocation to maximize spectral and energy efficiency. A key aspect of her research involves collision detection and avoidance in multi-UAV networks, where she applies advanced path-planning and sensing techniques to ensure safe, reliable aerial operations in dense or dynamic environments. She employs various optimization techniques, such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithms, to solve complex problems, including UAV trajectory optimization, AP clustering, and interference minimization. Her studies on hybrid infrastructures highlight the benefits of integrating UAVs with terrestrial base stations in cell-free configurations, enabling seamless coverage and improved quality of service, especially in challenging terrains and emergency scenarios. Ms. Kaul’s work blends analytical modeling, MATLAB-based simulation, and experimental testing, producing actionable insights for UAV-enabled 5G/6G systems. She has published in indexed journals, presented at national and international conferences, and supervised numerous undergraduate projects. Her research not only advances wireless communication technologies but also contributes to the safe integration of UAVs into future networks, aligning with the vision of intelligent, resilient, and energy-aware communication infrastructures.
