Pinki Sharma

Biography

Ms. Pinki Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Delhi Technological University (DTU), Delhi, with research focused on authentication and access control mechanisms for Internet of Things (IoT) environments. She holds an M.Tech. in CSE and MCA from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), reflecting a strong academic foundation in computer science and its applications.

She has over 4 years of teaching experience in higher education, having served at reputed institutions including JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida, and ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad. Throughout her academic career, she has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Programming in C, Data Structures and Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Prompt Engineering. She is dedicated to fostering an engaging, student-centric learning environment that emphasizes conceptual understanding, practical application, and innovation. 

Research Highlights

Pinki Sharma's research interests span Internet of Things (IoT) Security, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI, with a primary focus on designing secure, intelligent, and scalable computing systems. Her doctoral research at Delhi Technological University focuses on developing lightweight authentication and access control mechanisms for resource-constrained IoT environments. Her work aims to design efficient, privacy-preserving, and robust security frameworks that address the challenges of authentication, authorization, and secure communication in large-scale IoT ecosystems.

Her research explores authentication protocols, access control models, lightweight cryptographic techniques, identity and trust management, and secure communication frameworks for emerging applications such as smart healthcare, smart cities, industrial IoT, and intelligent transportation systems. She is also interested in leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to strengthen cybersecurity through intelligent threat detection, anomaly detection, risk assessment, and adaptive security solutions.

Her long-term research vision is to develop innovative, secure, and AI-enabled solutions that address real-world challenges while advancing technology and enhancing societal well-being. She welcomes interdisciplinary collaborations that promote impactful research in cybersecurity, intelligent systems, and next-generation computing technologies.
