Biography

Prateek Kumar Soni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida. He holds an M.Tech in Information Security from Atal Bihari Vajpayee – Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from IPS College of Technology and Management, Gwalior. His academic journey is further supported by a Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, reflecting his strong technical foundation.

Before joining JIIT, he served as an Assistant Professor at Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology (JUET), Guna, Madhya Pradesh, where he contributed to undergraduate teaching, research, and academic development. His teaching expertise spans a wide range of core computer science subjects including Computer Networks, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Theory of Computation, and Object-Oriented Programming.

Mr. Soni’s research interests lie in cloud computing, information security, IoT, and soft computing methodologies. He has co-authored book chapters with international publishers such as Auerbach (Routledge) and presented papers at reputed IEEE and international conferences. His notable works include research on cost-aware virtual machine placement in cloud environments and IoT-based intelligent systems.

A dedicated educator and researcher, he is passionate about fostering student growth, academic excellence, and innovation. Through his teaching, mentorship, and scholarly contributions, he continues to advance knowledge in computing technologies and inspire the next generation of engineers.

Prateek Kumar Soni’s research primarily focuses on cloud computing, information security, IoT systems, and soft computing methodologies. His M.Tech dissertation on Cost-Aware Virtual Machine Placement in Cloud Environments explored the use of genetic algorithms to optimize resource allocation, reduce operational expenses, and enhance system efficiency in large-scale cloud infrastructures. This work reflects his strong interest in developing intelligent, scalable, and cost-effective computing solutions.

He has contributed to book chapters published by Auerbach (Routledge, 2024), where his co-authored works highlight the role of soft computing methodologies in service-oriented computing and the application of IoT and machine learning for agricultural productivity improvement.
