Biography

Dr. Megha Agarwal is a Professor at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, with over 13 years of academic experience. She holds a B.Tech., M.Tech. (IIT), and Ph.D. (IIT) degree. Her research and teaching domains include image and signal processing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, with applications in medical diagnostics and pattern recognition. 

She has played key leadership roles as Electronics and Computer  Engineering (ECM) and  Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialization in Computer Science (ECE-CS) coordinator, and has contributed to academic committees. 

Dr. Agarwal has collaborated with premier institutes such as IIT Delhi and IIT Indore. She has been funded by agencies including BIRAC and DRID for innovative projects. Recognized for her academic and research contributions, she has received prestigious memberships such as IEEE Senior Member and Fellow of IETE, and serves as reviewer and editor for reputed international journals and conferences. Served as Session/Track Chair at multiple international conferences: ICPEICES 2024, ICASET 2024, and ICSC 2025.

Dr. Megha Agarwal’s core research focuses on medical signal and image analysis for disease classification, with expertise in retinal image classification, EEG analysis for neurological disorders, cardiac signal processing, and content-based medical image retrieval. Her notable innovations include integrating spatial and channel attention mechanisms into deep learning models for improved diagnostic accuracy, developing binary local pattern-based EEG feature extraction methods, and creating efficient pattern-based indexing for large-scale medical image databases. 

Applications span automated disease diagnosis, AI-assisted decision-support systems, and telemedicine solutions. She has collaborated nationally with IIT Delhi, and internationally through journal editorial roles and conference contributions. Funded projects include BIRAC- and DRID-supported research in AI-assisted diagnostics.
