Biography

Dr. Rahul Sharma is an accomplished academician and researcher in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering, specializing in biomedical signal processing, image analysis, data science, and machine learning. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Senior grade) at Jaypee University, Noida, UP. He brings over 7 years of experience in teaching, research, and innovation. Dr. Sharma earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (2014–2020), following M.Tech from IIITDM Jabalpur with distinction (CGPA 8.9) and a B.Tech. from Uttar Pradesh Technical University. His accolades include being part of the Indo-Japan JENESYS Program (2012), participation in the INUP Nanofabrication Workshop at IIT Bombay, and qualifying the GATE examination thrice. He has also been the recipient of MHRD fellowships during both his M.Tech. and Ph.D. studies

He has published extensively in reputed international journals with a citation count exceeding 455 and an h-index and i10-index of 8. His work focuses on automated learning algorithms for solving biomedical challenges, such as brain disease identification, human emotion recognition, and brain–computer interface (BCI) applications for paralyzed patients. He is also an active reviewer for leading international journals published by IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, and other platforms.

Research Highlights

I have knee interest to solve various biomedical issues by applying automated learning algorithms. I have a background in Signal and Image Processing, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Transfer Learning algorithms with MATLAB and PYTHON programming languages. I am working to develop Brain Disease identification, Human Emotion recognition, and fast BCI experience in Paralyzed patients. I have published 7-journals, 3-book chapter, and 1-conference.
