B.Sc In Forensic Science

The B.Sc in Forensic Science Programme is an industry-oriented undergraduate degree designed to develop skilled and ethical forensic professionals with a strong foundation in chemistry, biology, physics, and law. Aligned with NEP 2020, the programme offers flexible exit options: students may graduate after three years with a B.Sc. in Forensic Science, or complete four years to earn a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Forensic Science with Research, with specialization options in Cyber Forensics, Forensic Chemistry, or Forensic Biology. 

The programme integrates rigorous theoretical learning with extensive practical training in areas such as crime scene investigation, forensic biology and toxicology, forensic chemistry, questioned document examination, biometrics, criminal law, and forensic psychology. 

A strong emphasis is placed on hands-on laboratory training, evidence collection and preservation, maintenance of chain of custody, and field-based crime scene exposure through internships and training visits. The curriculum is structured to strengthen analytical thinking, problem-solving, and investigative abilities, enabling students to apply scientific methods and modern forensic technologies to real-world cases.

On completion of the B.Sc in forensic science programme, graduates are well prepared for careers in forensic laboratories, law enforcement and investigative agencies, private forensic organizations, and research institutions, or for pursuing higher studies in forensic science and allied disciplines. Additionally, JIIT offers merit-based fee waivers of up to 50% for students with a CGPA of 7.5 or above, providing strong support for aspiring forensic professionals
