Students, faculty/ staff members of the Institute can register themselves for the membership of LRC by filling LRC membership form. After registration, the LRC allows the registered members to borrow the LRC resources as per their entitlements. The details of the borrower categories and their entitlements:

RULES & REGULATIONS

General Rules

  • Treat others with dignity, courtesy and respect.
  • Readers are not allowed to bring issued books in the LRC.
  • Only registered members are allowed to use the LRC. Members should always carry their ID cards while using the LRC. Don't lend it to anyone.
  • Readers should observe strict silence inside the LRC.
  • Choose the appropriate zone for your studies. You will be asked to move or leave if your behaviour disturbs others.
  • Uses of Mobile phones are not permitted inside the LRC Block.
  • Only take resources out of the Library that you have borrowed. Remember to return or renew them on time to avoid fines.
  • Borrowers must satisfy themselves with the physical condition of the book before borrowing.
  • Members are responsible for books issued against their membership.
  • Treat Library property with respect. You will be charged for lost, stolen or damaged items
  • Readers are allowed to bring their personal books or any printed material inside the LRC.
  • The belongings like bags, umbrellas, etc. are to be kept at the Property Counter at Reader’s own risk.
  • Readers are advised not to leave their precious and valuable items like money, passport, credit card etc. at the Property Counter.
  • Readers should not carry books from one floor to another and should leave the books on the reading table after use.
  • Readers should not write in, mark, scratches and disfigure or damage books or furniture of the LRC.
  • Online Chatting is not allowed.
  • Users are not allowed to carry eatables and drinks in LRC.
  • Readers are not to share their net access ID and Password with other students.
  • Remember the Library's online services are for academic use only and must not be used for any commercial purpose.
  • Always follow copyright law and don't plagiarise.
  • Always log out when you leave a PC. Never share your network ID and password with anyone else.
  • Changing the settings and display of Computers kept in the LRC are not allowed.
  • Playing games on computers is strictly prohibited in the entire LRC premises.
  • Keyboard, LAN Cable, Components and Mouse are not allowed in LRC.
  • Students should take care of their Pen drives, Cell Phones, and Wallets etc.
  • Browsing of Dating, Networking of friendship and adult content is strictly prohibited. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the defaulters.
  • Don't move the library furniture. The layouts allow for social distancing and are wheelchair friendly.
  • Keep aisles, stairs and fire exits clear at all times.
  • If the fire alarm sounds, please leave the Library immediately by the nearest fire exit. Do not use the lifts.
  • There are 'fire refuge' areas on every floor for people with mobility difficulties.

Circulation Rules

  • Books are normally issued for a fortnight except reference books which are issued to faculty for overnight only.
  • Those textbooks which have single/double copies shall not be issued.
  • Reference books, theses, project reports and periodicals/ bound journals are not issued at all.
  • Project Reports/Theses are to be consulted within the LRC premises only.
  • Dissertations/Theses cannot be photocopied.
  • LRC can recall any issued book even before the due date.

Book Bank Facility

  • A Student may get a maximum of Two Books for the book bank a time (Depending on availability )
  • Books will be issued for 45 Days. Members will be required to deposit the books after the completion of the exam as per the schedule notified.
  • A fine will be levied if book will not be returned as per the schedule. (10/- per day per Books)
  • At the time of return of books, if the books are found to be torn, mutilated or spoiled in any manner then the book will be returned to the students and the cost of the books will be realized from him/her.
  • If a book is lost the member will be required to provide the replacement of book and pay the overdue fine if any. ( As per LRC Policy)
  • Book Bank Facility available on Monday to Friday (02.00 PM to 05.00 PM) Only.
  • Location of Book Bank facility at lower Basement (Reference section)
  • Book will be issued on first come first served basis.
  • Limits of LRC Books including Book Bank as follows: - 
    • UG Course: - 4 Books (Total)
    • PG Course: - 5 Books (Total)

Overdue Charges

  • Issued books returned after due date attract overdue charges. Overdue charges will be charged @ Rs.10/- per day on each book.
  • For loss or damage of the LRC book, the member has to pay the current price of the book plus overdue charges (if any). If the lost book is not available in the market, the member will have to pay double the cost of the book.

  • If you break any of these rules, action may be taken against you under the Student Code of Conduct.
