Educational Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Physics, M.Sc. (Physics Honours), B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics

Biography and research Interests

Dr. Bharti has completed her B.Sc from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and M.Sc. From Panjab University, Chandigarh. Later she has done PG Diploma in Space and Atmospheric Sciences from Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (Affiliated to the United Nations). She enrolled for Ph.D. in Astronomy & Astrophysics at Aryabhatta research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital (August, 2015-August 2021) with the institute research fellowship. Her post doctoral research was carried out in ARIES (2021-22) and University of Liège, Belgium from October 2022 to October 2024. She is currently an Assistant Professor (Grade II) in Department of Physics and Material Science, JIIT Noida.

Dr. Bharti’s main research interest is based upon the observational study massive O-type and Wolf-Rayet stars and their associated stellar winds.  Her research work focuses on constraining the mass loss processes and analyse the dynamical evolution of winds in early-type stars using multi-wavelength imaging, polarimetric and spectroscopic data collected from several ground-based and space-borne astronomical observatories.  She also has interest in studying Sun’s outer atmosphere ‘Corona’ by carrying out experiments during Total Solar Eclipses.
