Biography
Dr. Neakanshika Chadha joined the Department of Chemistry at the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology as an Assistant Professor in July 2025. Before her appointment at JIIT, Dr. Chadha has more than 3 years of teaching experience in different reputed B.Tech colleges, she worked as a Assistant Professor at Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology, Ghaziabad from Sept 2024-July 2025. Prior to that, she worked as Assistant Professor at K.I.E.T Group of Institutions from April 2024-July 2024. Dr. Chadha holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Chemistry (2010) and a Master of Science in Physical Chemistry (2012) from Miranda House College, University of Delhi. She earned her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in Jan 2022 from the CSIR- National Physical Laboratory, specializing in the design and development of Graphene based porous materials for Energy and Electronic applications. She got AIR 59 in NET JRF exam conducted by CSIR and UGC (2015). She also served as Senior Associate in Innodata Isogen from May 2012-2013 where she handles the Patent related tasks for Elsevier Publishing. Additionally, Dr. Chadha has worked as Research Intern in chemistry (Delhi University) from 2014-2015.
Research Highlights
During her tenure at Delhi University, she gained experimental hand on different project including synthesis of metal curcumin nanoparticles for biomedical applications. During her PhD, she has explored numerous application of porous graphene based 3-D assemblies (GAs) as electrostatic safeguards, microwave absorbers and electrode material for energy storage devices. As a part of CSIR-800 Project that intend to benefit 800 million people of India through Science & Technology (S&T) interventions, she work on waste to wealth strategy with major concern to protect the environment. Here, she discuss the consumer awareness and preference towards the disposal of “Battery waste” with major emphasis on end of life (EOL) mobile phone batteries i.e. lithium ion batteries (LIBs). She worked on industrial level (Sheela Foams, Sector 135, Noida) for the in-situ synthesis of polyurethane foams using different carbon fillers for antistatic applications. Well acquainted with the several technologies required for the characterization of nanomaterials & layered structures viz. TEM, SEM, Zeta-Size analyser, X-ray diffraction, TLC, FT-IR, NMR, EDAX, Electron Diffraction, BET analysis, UV Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy etc. Well versed with the instruments and characterization techniques required for the designing of porous carbon materials.
