Biography

Dr. Nishant is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida. He holds a Ph.D. in Material Science from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, where his research focused on designing advanced cathode materials for zinc-ion batteries. His work contributed significantly to the field of energy storage, particularly through the development and defect engineering of spinel-type oxides.

Dr. Yadav has authored several research papers in reputed international journals such as Electrochimica Acta, Journal of Energy Storage, and Catalysis Communications. He has also presented his research at prominent international forums including the Asian Conference on Electrochemical Power Sources (ACEPS) in Singapore and RAFAS-2024 (India).

Dr. Yadav has been awarded the 90th Anniversary Fellowship of Chulalongkorn University and the PETROMAT Fellowship, and he qualified national-level competitive exams including GATE and CSIR-NET. His technical expertise includes advanced characterization techniques (XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, NMR), electrochemical testing, high-pressure reactor operations, and battery materials development. He also has hands-on research experience and has worked at institutes liKE Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI), Thailand and CSIR- Indian Institiute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP), Dehradun, India.

Research Highlights

Dr. Nishant Yadav’s research focuses on advanced materials for electrochemical energy storage and catalysis. His doctoral work at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, centered on defect engineering in spinel-based transition metal oxides, particularly Zn-substituted MnCo₂O₄, as high-performance cathode materials for zinc-ion batteries. His findings offered key insights into the role of cation doping and morphological control in redox behavior and charge-storage kinetics of spinel oxides.

Dr. Yadav also has significant experience in heterogeneous catalysis from his tenure at CSIR–Indian Institute of Petroleum, where he worked on methanol and DME synthesis from syngas using high-pressure gas-phase reactors. He is skilled in a wide range of material characterization techniques including XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS,NMR, and GC-Mass as well as electrochemical tools like CV, EIS, and GCD.

He has also worked at the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI), Thailand, applying advanced beamline techniques for in-depth structural analysis. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges material design, energy storage, and sustainable chemistry with a focus on real-world energy applications, with ongoing interests in multivalent battery chemistries, self-healing materials, and scalable electrode fabrication.
