SWAYAM: Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM)
SWAYAM is a programme initiated by Government of India. This platform facilitates hosting of courses. The platform is designed to achieve the three cardinal principles – ‘Access’ to every learner, ‘Equality’ for every learner, and ‘quality’ content to every learner. Number of Courses based on learners’ choice and their education level are available on the SWAYAM platform.
All SWAYAM courses are interactive and well designed by expert teachers in their domain in the country. Courses are free of cost for any learner. However, if learner needs certificate then learner has to pay fees for registration for proctored examination. For proctored examination, learner will give proctored exam in-person at designed centres on the specific course examination date. Certificate eligibility is defined in specific course page and certificate will be issued based on defined criteria on course page.
Jaypee Institute of Information Technology promotes the elective courses from MOOCs Platform of SWAYAM and has made provision of credit transfer in the academic system for SWAYAM courses according to UGC and AICTE guidelines and follow NPTEL credit framework for online learning courses. We, at JIIT Assigns credit to a specific course based on student’s performance in that course on SWAYAM Platform in form of achieved marks/ certificate.
